DRC to support Air Force assets tracking program

Dynamics Research Corp. will support an Air Force system that helps track the location and condition of supplies under a new, $20.2 million contract.

The two-year and nine month contract is for the Air Force’s Item Unique Identification program. The contract was awarded under the Design Engineering Support Program, or DESP II, and is managed by the Air Force Global Logistic Support Center.

The contract expands DRC’s ongoing effort on the program, company officials said in an announcement issued today.  

The work will be performed at all three Air Logistics Centers located at Tinker Air Force base, Oklahoma City, Hill Air Force Base, Ogden, Utah, and Robins Air Force Base, Warner Robins, Ga. DRC is based in Andover, Mass.

Under the program, the unique identification marking enable the Air Force to track parts through transportation, supply, repair and overhaul processes. It also supports valuation and life cycle management, designed to give the Air Force better asset visibility, the officials said.

This latest contract marks the 18th task order awarded to DRC under the DESP II contract, which brings the total of DRC's awards to near $80 million.
