Companies join forces to deliver information-sharing package

Two companies offering compatible technologies intended to improve how law enforcement and intelligence agencies analyze and share critical data have joined forces.

Initiate Systems Inc., a provider of data management software and services, and Palantir Technologies Inc., which offers an analytical platform in which to share workflow and findings, have formed a partnership to market their product capabilities, Initiate officials announced Oct. 13.

Initiate’s software is designed to help law enforcement and intelligence agencies connect data residing in multiple, disparate systems, company officials said. The Chicago company’s software handles large amounts of data and reduces the clutter of information that analysts must sift through.

Palantir, of Palo Alto, Calif., offers an open platform for data integration, search and discovery, knowledge management and collaboration, officials said. Palantir’s platform also has built in privacy and civil liberty protections.

The two companies intend to market their technologies to defense, law enforcement, homeland security and intelligence agencies.

In related news, Camber Corp. announced this week that it has acquired Veritas Analytics Inc., a government provider of intelligence analysis and risk assessment services.
