Apptis wins IT services work with Defense Acquisition University

Apptis Inc. will provide network engineering, information assurance and other services to the Defense Department under a three-year contract worth a total of $28.4 million.

The award from the Defense Acquisition University also calls for overall Apptis support of DAU’s network, helpdesk, desktop and video teleconference services.

Apptis will provide program management, engineering services, integration of enterprise infrastructure and telecommunications engineering.

The contract also calls for information technology systems engineering and implementation, operation and maintenance, training support, and integrated logistics support, among other services.

DAU is a university for the Defense Acquisition Workforce,  formal courses, continuous learning modules, knowledge sharing assets, and consulting, according to an Apptis statement today.

The university offers practitioner training, career management and other instructional services that enable the military acquisition technology and logistics community to make the right acquisition decisions and deliver timely capabilities to the warfighter.

The award is Apptis’ first under the General Services Administration’s Alliant contract vehicle, said Skip Nowland, Apptis chief operations officer.

The 67-person Apptis team includes subcontractors ATSI Inc. and Prism Inc.

Apptis, of Chantilly, Va., ranks No. 50 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
