Wexford Group named to DOD anti-IED contract
Wexford Group is one of five companies named to the five-year, $494 million prime award.
A CACI International Inc. subsidiary is one of five companies named to a five-year, $494 million prime contract to further support a Defense Department program to combat roadside bombs.
As a result, the Wexford Group International will continue its support for the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO)
With this contract, CACI-Wexford will support JIEDDO with strategic planning, operational and training support, intelligence analysis, program management support, and strategic communications.
The contract expands the Wexford Group’s existing business with JIEDDO and enhances CACI’s position as a premier counter-IED company, CACI officials said. The award also strengthens CACI’s functional core competency in integrated security and intelligence solutions and makes Wexford a centerpiece of that core competency, they added.
JIEDDO leads DOD efforts to counter IEDs through a three-pronged strategy of attacking the network, defeating the device and training the force.
The Wexford Group has been working with JIEDDO and its predecessors since November 2003.
CACI International, of Arlington, Va., ranks No. 20 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
