Serco Inc. will provide record processing services to the Homeland Security Department’s Citizenship and Immigration Services under a new contract worth up to $190 million, company officials announced today.
The contract has one base year and four one-year options.
Serco will provide records management services at the USCIS National Benefits Center located in Lee's Summit, Missouri. The company will provide file operations, records distribution management, business process improvement support, automated system transactions, and system update functions.
This work will support the agency’s immigration-related applications for adjustment of status, naturalization, adoption and permanent resident card replacement.
The National Benefits Center’s mission is to create and support a centralized process for field office submissions in order to provide a standardized service to customers.
Serco expects to manage approximately 900 employees at its facility in Lee’s Summit. Serco has supported the benefits center for the past seven years. It processes more than 1.5 million files annually.
Serco, based in Reston, Va., ranks No. 28 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
