Apriva, a Scottsdale, Ariz., manufacturer of high-security wireless solutions, will provide the Defense Information Systems Agency with hardware, software licenses and other information technology services under a five-year contract worth $17 million.

According to the terms of the contract, Apriva will provide software licenses, network equipment, third-party software, and outsourced network and help desk support for DISA’s secure wireless data and e-mail infrastructure.

The contract includes implementation and licensing of a second Apriva Gateway, the continuing license of the first Primary Apriva Gateway, wireless network services, data center services, and around-the-clock outsourced operational management and help desk support for DISA’s entire Apriva Private Gateway infrastructure.

The Apriva Gateway infrastructure, called the Multi-Carrier Entry Point by DISA, provides the secure wireless and data center infrastructure for the Secure Mobile Environment Portable Electronic Device.
