Northrop Grumman taps Cheryl Janey as VP of Civil Systems
Cheryl Janey is named vice president of operations for Northrop Grumman’s Information Systems sector’s Civil Systems division.
Northrop Grumman Corp. has named Cheryl Janey vice president of operations for the Information Systems sector’s Civil Systems division.
In this role, Janey will oversee the division's financial, growth and operational objectives within the federal-civil, and state and local markets, a company statement today said.
She will also lead Civil System’s integrated planning process, leading and managing special projects and initiatives.
Janey has nearly 30 years of experience in the information technology industry. Most recently, she was president of civil programs at Harris Corp., supporting the technology needs of federal agencies.
Previously, she spent almost six years in various leadership roles at Northrop Grumman in support of the company’s commercial, state and local business.
She is a member of Women in Technology and TechAmerica’s State and Local Executive Committee. Janey also serves on the board of the Virginia High-Tech Partnership.
Janey earned her bachelor’s degree at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Northrop Grumman, of Los Angeles, ranks No. 3 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
