Preferred Systems Solutions Inc. has acquired Integrated Network Services Inc., an information technology company specializing in mission critical systems and applications for the intelligence and defense communities.

According to terms of the acquisition, Mark Turlik, INSI’s president and chief executive officer, will become senior vice president of Preferred Systems Solutions and president of its intelligence division.
The acquisition of Frederick, Md.-based INSI will expand PSS’ presence in the intelligence and Defense Department communities, Scott Goss, PSS president and CEO, in an announcement today.
In March, PSS was awarded a five-year, $26.5 million contract from the State Department Bureau of Human Resources to support its global employment management system.
Under this contract, PSS will implement and integrate human capital business functions, develop and enhance systems for legal requirement adherence, performance-evaluation processing, reporting and workflow.
The company also will provide system monitoring and measurement capabilities to State.
PSS, of McLean, Va., is an IT services company specializing in technology solutions for government and industry. The company has more than 300 employees throughout the United States.
