General Dynamics to do Army IT security work

A General Dynamics unit will deliver information assurance support to Army Pacific region installations under a $14.5 million contract. 

Under the contract, General Dynamics Information Technology will provide IT security policy and guidance, certification and accreditation, and training and security engineering support to the U.S. Army Pacific, company officials said April 13.

USARPAC provides trained forces to support military operations and peacetime missions in the Asia-Pacific region.

Contractor personnel will provide on-site support at Fort Shafter, Hawaii; Camp Zama and Okinawa, Japan; and Forts Wainwright and Richardson, Alaska, the officials said.

General Dynamics IT, of Fairfax, Va., is a unit of General Dynamics Corp., of Falls Church, Va. The parent company ranks No. 6 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
