GD provides Army with logistics support
General Dynamics will provide the Army Central Command with logistics support under a contract worth $3 million.
General Dynamics Corp. will provide the Army Central Command with logistics support under a three-year contract worth $3 million.
The contract calls for General Dynamics Information Technology to provide logistics support to the Army and the Multi-National Corps-Iraq (MNC-I) at Camp Victory, Iraq.
GDIT will assist MNC-I and its strategic partners in implementing a structured operational approach to analyze, forecast and manage equipment and commodities in the Central Command’s area of responsibility, which stretches from the Middle East to Central Asia.
The program will improve accountability for all on-site and in-transit theater-provided equipment, ammunition and petroleum, General Dynamics officials said.
The successful management of logistics support is vital to deployed personnel in Iraq and surrounding areas, said Zannie Smith, senior vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology’s Army Solutions Division.
General Dynamics, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 6 on Washington Technology’s 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
