Robert Stephan of DHS joins Dutko

Dutko Worldwide consulting firm has hired Robert Stephan, the former assistant secretary for infrastructure protection at the Homeland Security Department, to head a new global risk management unit, the company announced March 16.

Stephan, in his former role, was responsible for the National Infrastructure Protection Plan released in 2006 and updated in 2009, the National Incident Management System in 2004, the National Response Plan in 2005 and the National Strategy for Countering Improvised Explosive Devices in 2008, the company said.

The risk management consulting group hopes to obtain clients among federal, state and local agencies, as well as corporations and foreign governments, on security, accountability, operational continuity, resiliency planning and federal regulatory issues.

Also joining the Dutko risk management group is Managing Director Theodore Macklin, an emergency response authority who has worked with the DHS Operations Directorate, and Vice President Christopher Krebs, who helped lead the development and implementation of DHS’ Chemical Facilit Anti-Terrorism Standards regulatory program.
