Parsons bolsters intell business with acquisition
Parsons Corp. buys McMunn Associates for undisclosed amount. The company picks up training and management capabilities.
Engineering services firm Parsons Corp. has bolstered its intelligence business with the acquisition announced late last week of McMunn Associates Inc.
The company, known as MAI, provides analytical, technical, training and management services to U.S. intelligence agencies.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. MAI, of Herndon, Va., has about 100 employees. The company will become a subsidiary of Parsons Infrastructure and Technology Group.
MAI’s services include blended learning training solutions, which combine virtual and physical training; civil maritime solutions; research and analysis support; and critical infrastructure protection.
“This is an exciting time for MAI," said David McMunn, MAI president. "Becoming part of a nearly 12,000-person firm will provide our current staff with expanded opportunities and will increase the depth and breadth of the services we offer.”
Aronson Capital Partners served as the financial adviser to MAI.
Parsons is ranked No. 95 on Washington Technology’s 2008 Top 100 list of the largest government contractors.
