Tyler helps Ohio county manage finances

Tyler Technologies Inc. will provide financial management assistance to Mahoning County, Ohio, under a contract valued at about $1.8 million.

Under the terms of the contract, the county will install a comprehensive suite of Tyler Technologies’ Munis financial management software suite, which includes a variety of financial and human resource applications, company officials said. The contract also includes software licenses, corresponding professional services, ongoing maintenance and support.

The county will use the complete financial accounting package, which includes basic general ledger reporting, requisitioning, bid and contract management, and project and grant management, said Carol McFall, the county’s chief deputy auditor.

“We hope to utilize the forms programs as well to save on the overproduction of printed copies and to ensure better file storage of information,” she said. “We will be implementing the complete payroll and HR packages of Tyler’s system as well.”

Located in eastern Ohio, Mahoning is the 10th largest county in the state, with a population of about 250,000. Youngstown is the county seat.
