Census to issue RFI for mass communication system

The RFI is likely to include requirements such as instant message delivery via electronic devices, message acknowledgment features and real-time reporting on message distribution, according to the notice. Other requirements are likely to be the ability to target specific groups of employees, easy loading of new employees’ contact information, polling capability, built-in redundancy, around-the-clock availability and technical support. The work involved in the 2010 census will began in April 2009 and be completed in December 2010, the notice states. The services requested would continue after the census is completed but for reduced staff levels.
