SAIC to assist Marines with anti-IED training

Science Applications International Corp. will help the Marines learn the basics of defeating improved explosive devices under a one-year, $17 million task order.

Under the contract, SAIC will furnish instructional support services to the Marine Corps Engineer Center of Excellence’s train-the-trainer program, SAIC officials said. The program provides instruction in the basic principles of defeating IED and counter-IED radio-controlled electronic warfare, the officials said.

Eagan, McCallister Associates Inc., an SAIC unit that specializes in engineering and information technology, will perform the work. The Space and Naval Warfare System Center Atlantic awarded the task order.

SAIC, of San Diego, ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology’s 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
