L-3 gets Air Force F-16 training deal

Under the contract, L-3 Link Simulation and Training will furnish as many as 20 Block 40/50 F-16 mission training centers, the Defense Department announced Dec. 29.
L-3 Link has supported the Air Force and Air National Guard on various F-16 simulation programs since the 1980s, according to the company’s Web site. In addition, Link has shipped F-16 training equipment to 10 foreign military services.
The contracting activity is Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
L-3 Link of Arlington, Texas, is a unit of L-3 Communications of New York. The parent company ranks No. 8 on Washington Technology’s 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
