CGI to upgrade Clevelands finance system

Find opportunities — and win them.

CGI Group will upgrade Cleveland’s municipal finance system under a new contract.

CGI Group Inc. will help the city of Cleveland upgrade its municipal finance system under a contract worth $6.7 million.

The project will update the financial management technology, software and business processes to enhance Cleveland’s financial operations, information sharing and decision-making with more effective fiscal management, monitoring and reporting. Where appropriate, the city’s various financial management applications will be consolidated into a more integrated environment, CGI officials said.

The company will replace the existing financial management systems with its AMS Advantage enterprise resource-planning tool. The project also includes the AMS Advantage Electronic Content Management module, the officials said.

Advantage was the best fit for the city’s functional needs because will deliver improved citizen services, fiscal reporting and data management to our residents, Sharon Dumas, director of finance for the city, said in a statement.

CGI Group, of Montreal, ranks No. 73 on Washington Technology’s 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
