Stanley to support Marines' network communications

Stanley Inc. will provide network communications support to the Marine Corps under a five-year contract valued at $119 million.

The award from the Marine Corps Network Operations and Security Center calls for Stanley to assist the Marine Corps Enterprise Network Secret Internet Protocol Routed Network.

The information technology services and solutions provider will supply a broad range of technical, operational, maintenance and management services to assist the service's efforts to consolidate its network and IT infrastructure.

Stanley also will assist the Network Operations and Security Center in creating a more effective and responsive Web-based environment that can support widely distributed Marine Corps' operations and provide commanders and other authorized users with better access to time-sensitive information.

The network operations and security center maintains global network operations and computer network defense to facilitate seamless information exchanges by Marines and joint forces operating globally. The center is the service's nucleus for enterprise data network services, network support to deploying forces, and technical development of network-enabled IT solutions.

The work will take place at Marine Corps facilities at Quantico, Va., and Camp Pendleton, Calif., along with other installations worldwide.

Stanley, of Arlington, Va., ranks No. 48 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
