SAIC to do network planning for Army, Marines

Science Applications International Corp. will provide information technology to support the Army and Marine Corps' network planning processes.

Science Applications International Corp. will provide information technology to support the Army and Marine Corps' network planning processes under a three-year contract that could be worth as much as $24 million.

The Joint Network Management System contract from the Army's Office of the Project Manager - Current Force calls for SAIC to provide network planning and software support services. The work will be done primarily in San Diego.

JNMS provides Army and Marine Corps units with tools to create and implement network management plans and monitor system performance.

SAIC also will assist in the production and deployment of the system, as well as provide training and help-desk services, post-deployment and production software, logistics and engineering support.

SAIC, of San Diego, ranks No. 5/a> on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
