Jacobs to help Marines manage acquisition

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. will help the Marine Corps acquire next-generation information technology under a three-year contract valued at $41 million.

The task order calls for Jacobs to support acquisition management of the Marines' next-generation IT environment, which will be accessed via the Navy Next Generation Enterprise Network and the Secure Operational Network Infrastructure Capability.

That support includes financial management and planning, program management activities, and technical and programmatic representation in forums related to the delivery of IT services, Jacobs officials said.

The services provided under the contract will help sustain and enhance the Marines' mission-critical, worldwide access to enterprise information technologies, said Craig Martin, president and chief executive officer of Jacobs, in a statement issued today.

The task order from the Marines' Information Systems and Infrastructure Product Group was awarded under the Commercial Enterprise Omnibus Support Services blanket purchase agreement. It has one base year and two option years.

Jacobs Engineering Group, of Pasadena, Calif., ranks No. 20 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
