SRA to help DHS with emergency communications planning

SRA International Inc. will provide project management support to the Homeland Security Department's Office of Emergency Communications under a three-year contract worth $25 million.

Under the contract, SRA's Touchstone subsidiary will furnish the OEC with strategic and project management consulting services, company officials said. The work will address the office's needs as they relate to governance, outreach, performance management, organizational strategy and political analysis.

SRA Touchstone supports key aspects of the office's mission, including the implementation of a National Emergency Communications plan, development of statewide communications interoperability strategies and coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for interoperable emergency communications grants.

SRA purchased Washington-based Touchstone Consulting Group in 2005. The consulting business specializes in helping government agencies develop information technology strategies.

SRA, of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 32 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
