Northrop wins $177M Air Force software deal

Northrop Grumman Information Technology will provide a series of software services to the Air Force under a contract valued at $177 million.

Under the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity award, Northrop Grumman IT will deliver Joint Enterprise Department of Defense Intelligence Information System Infrastructure software and DODIIS Trusted Workstation software.

DODIIS systems are developed individually by the military services, funded through the General Defense Intelligence Program and managed by the Defense Intelligence Agency.

As a result, Northrop Grumman IT will provide the customer's user community with about one software release every six months. Delivery will include computer software, technical documentation, and as required, the installation and maintenance of systems at existing intelligence sites worldwide.

The contract also includes requirements definition analysis, systems engineering, development, integration management and quality control. The company will also provide familiarization, integration and interoperability testing, security and system operation and administration.

Northrop Grumman IT, of McLean, Va., is a unit of Northrop Grumman Corp., of Los Angeles. The parent company ranks No. 3 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
