Crandall to lead Lockheed's Savi Group

For one executive at Lockheed Martin Corp., the job just got larger.

Chief Operating Officer Myles Crandall will take on the role of president of Savi Group, a unit of the company focused on supply chain and asset management technologies, the company said Thursday.

In addition to assuming full operational and strategic leadership duties of the group, Crandall also will continue as Lockheed Martin COO, a position he has held the past six months.

Before joining Savi in April, Crandall served as vice president of strategic planning for the government contractor. He also has held various program and line-of-business executive slots. Before joining Lockheed Martin, Crandall worked for Bechtel Corp. for three years.

Savi Group is composed of Savi Technology, Savi Logistics Systems lines of business, and the Savi Networks joint venture with Hutchison Port Holdings. Savi Group also works with other divisions of the company on large government projects for in-transit visibility, cargo security and asset management.

Lockheed Martin, of Bethesda, Md., ranks No. 1 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
