SRA to manage refugee center for State

SRA International Inc. will furnish technology and operations support for a State Department program that processes refugees under a contract worth as much as $35 million over three years.

SRA will manage and operate the Refugee Processing Center, which is part of the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration. According to the contract, the company will process applications, and also facilitate the reception and placement of arriving refugees, company officials said.

The company will operate, maintain and enhance the center's primary software application, known as the Worldwide Refugee Admissions Processing System. The interactive system tracks and processes the movement of refugees from various countries to the United States for resettlement.

The center was established in 1991 to provide technical, data and refugee processing support to achieve the objectives of the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program.

SRA, of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 32 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
