Sentel to aid FAA safety programs

Sentel Corp. will provide the Federal Aviation Administration with safety risk management and quality control expertise under four-year, $21.7 million contract.

The engineering and information technology services company will assist FAA's Air Traffic Organization Safety Management System with safety policy and assurance programs, including audits and evaluations, quality assurance, safety promotion and training.

The technology and administrative activities are designed to strengthen FAA's safety management system, said Darrell Crapps, president and chief executive officer at Sentel.

Sentel, of Alexandria, Va., supports the Defense Department, NASA, FAA and other government agencies with sensor integration, chemical and biological agent defense, software development, maintenance and support, electromagnetic engineering, and test and evaluation.
