Indus to broaden Education's student portal

Find opportunities — and win them.

Indus Corp. will provide information technology assistance to the Education Department's Students Portal program under a task order worth an estimated $5 million.

The task order stems from the single-award blanket purchase agreement Indus received from the department's Federal Student Aid program to develop, enhance and support portal, Web and database technologies.

FSA programs include Pell grants, Stafford loans, Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students loans and others. FSA programs provide almost $91 billion in financial aid annually to college students.

The BPA was awarded through Indus' General Services Administration schedule and has an initial term of five years, with possible extension options, Indus officials said.

The BPA gives the company and Education a contracting vehicle to support key systems throughout the department, Mark Gray, Indus' chief operating officer, said in a statement.

The Vienna, Va., government contractor has been working with Education for eight years, added Shiv Krishnan, Indus chairman and chief executive officer.
