ManTech unveils plans to buy Emerging Technologies Group

ETG is a privately held, woman-owned, service-disabled, veteran-owned business that was founded in January 2001.

ManTech International Corp. has agreed to acquire Emerging Technologies Group Inc., a provider of cybersecurity and other services to the intelligence community and Defense Department. Financial terms were not disclosed.

ETG provides computer network operations and forensics and has expertise in analyzing signal and communications intelligence. The company is a privately held, woman-owned, service-disabled, veteran-owned business that was founded in January 2001.

The acquisition will expand ManTech's cybersecurity operations and position the company to win additional work related to the Comprehensive National Cyber Initiative, said Robert Coleman, president and chief operating officer at ManTech.

In addition, ManTech expects the Herndon, Va., company to generate $20 million in revenue this year with good operating margins.

The company expects to complete the acquisition, which is subject to various closing conditions and approvals, in the third quarter of 2008.

ManTech, of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 36 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
