Crazy days of summer

My life has been in overdrive for the last five weeks.My wife and I were expecting a baby on Sept. 2, but because of some complications, our son was delivered early ? June 29. I took a couple weeks off then to help my wife and speed up our schedule for getting the house ready.After five weeks in the NICU at the hospital, he finally came home this week. While premature, he's right where he should be.He eats every 3 hours and he lets you know about it if you're running behind. I'm taking some more time off to help with the adjustment, but with the Internet, of course, you are never really disconnected.Meanwhile, Washington Technology marches on. We've now transitioned to being a monthly from being biweekly. The drop in frequency was in part driven by dollars ? few advertisers were in both issues each month so we could consolidate ads into the same issue without dropping revenue, but cutting production costs.Another driver is the shift of readers and resources to the Web, so look for us to do more there. We've been running more guest columns and we're looking to add other features. We're also starting to aggregate content ? pulling in summaries of important stories from other publications. The summary gives you a snapshot of the news and the link to the publication if you want to read the entire story.As always, we're open to suggestions and comments. One of our goals is to make Washington Technology a forum for the government contracting community.Finally, with the shift to monthly ? which started this month ? we'll be redesigning Washington Technology. The new look will start in October with our Small Business Special Report, which will include the annual Top 25 8(a) list and the Fast 50 rankings of the fastest growing small businesses in the government market.It is one of our signature issues, so the redesign will have a chance to really shine with that edition.Anyway, that is a quick update on Washington Technology.
