CACI wins Army battle command systems deal

CACI International Inc. will assist the Army to strengthen its capabilities in command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) as the result of a $62 million contract.

Under terms of the three-year Strategic Services Sourcing award, the Arlington, Va., contractor will support the Quick Reaction and Battle Command Support Division of the Army's Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineer Center's Command and Control Directorate at Fort Monmouth, N.J.

The division designs, builds, tests and installs emerging C4ISR and related technology for all branches of the Armed Forces for use in ground facilities, vehicles, aircraft, watercraft and for troops' handheld operations in the field.

The CACI team will develop computer-aided drawing and manufacturing applications that will enable the Army to create virtual prototypes before committing to development. The contractor will also work closely with the Command and Control Directorate to identify, prototype, demonstrate, refine and test new C4ISR solutions that have promise for use in broader environments.

CACI will continue working on the contract as it transitions future work to the company's new facilities at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.
