Allan retires from NCI

Linda Allan has announced her retirement as executive vice president of NCI Information Systems Inc.

Linda Allan, employee No. 2 at NCI Information Systems Inc., has announced her retirement as executive vice president.

She was the second employee hired by NCI founder Charles Narang more than 17 years go. She helped guide the company through its years as an 8(a) small business and was instrumental in the company going public in 2005.

"Clearly, her efforts over these last 17 years ? are ones for which I will always be grateful," Narang said in an e-mail message to NCI employees.

Allan, an only child, said she is retiring to spend more time with her parents, both of whom are in their 80s.

She will remain active with NCI as a consultant and will offer consulting services to other companies. She has set up a Google e-mail account ? ljallan523@gmail.com ? to handle inquiries.

"I know I can't go from 200 miles an hour to zero so I thought the consulting route was a good way to go," she said.

NCI, of Reston, Va., is ranked No. 78 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
