ASM Research wins DOD veterinary contract

ASM Research has won a contract to support the Defense Department's Veterinary Services Activity on an electronic record project.
For ASM Research Inc., of Fairfax, Va., a dog of a contract isn't such a bad thing.
The company has won a $10 million contract to support the Defense Department's Veterinary Service Activity on an electronic record project. The DOD unit cares for dogs that are used for military security and guard duties.
ASM will work with Mobile Data Software to customize the company's VetInfo system. The work will focus on e-records for Army and Air Force dogs.
The company will support the Military Health System's effort to improve and refine functions such as data capture, data management, data analysis and event reporting. The work will cover animal care and management as well as disease prevention and control.
DOD intends to deploy the system to its veterinary treatment facilities around the world, said Mary Savitsky, a program manager at ASM.
