SRA to assist EPA with regulatory development

SRA International Inc. will assist the Environmental Protection Agency with regulatory development and policy services under a new seven-year, $56.5 million contract.

Under the terms of the agreement, SRA will furnish technical and regulatory development services to the EPA's Office of Emergency Management and its federal, state and local partners to improve prevention and response to environmental emergencies, according to a company news release.

The technical and regulatory services will help EPA to develop and implement prevention programs that reduce the risk of oil and hazardous substance release emergencies. At the same time, the company will help EPA improve its response to emergencies related to discharges of those materials.

SRA has provided a wide variety of technical support services to EPA since 2002, the company said. The support services also include technical analysis and research, regulatory assistance, program evaluation, and management systems and planning.

SRA, based in Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 32 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
