SAIC to supply National Guard with IT learning tools

Science Applications International Corp. will provide distance learning and other information technology support services to the Army National Guard and Reserve under a five-year task order worth up to $454 million.

SAIC will assist the Army's Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) at Fort Belvoir, Va.

Services include life-cycle maintenance of PEO EIS' Reserve Component Automation System, which links 10,500 Army National Guard and Reserve units at 4,000 sites worldwide.

The company will also support the Distributive Training Technology Project, a nationwide network of digital distance learning centers to improve military readiness, by developing and implementing strategic goals for the Army National Guard's information management efforts.

SAIC's services will also include program management, software engineering and development, information assurance, and enterprise architecture. Other services covered are data warehousing, user support and analysis, and implementation of emerging technology initiatives.

The General Services Administration's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center awarded the task order under the Millennia governmentwide acquisition contract. It has a four-month base period, four one-year options and an eight-month final option period.
