SAIC to assist Navy with C5ISR

Science Applications International Corp. will provide support for command and control and related technologies to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Charleston under contract that could be worth as much as $221 million over eight years.

Under the contract, SAIC will furnish various types of technical and engineering assistance for command, control, communications, computers, cryptology, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance programs, also known as C5ISR.

During the course of the project, SAIC will supply production engineering, integration and product improvement, according to a company news release. The company also will be responsible for test and evaluation requirements and maintenance support services.

Eagan, McAllister Associates Inc., an SAIC subsidiary, will perform the work.

SAIC, of San Diego, specializes in scientific, engineering and technology applications related to national security, energy, environment, critical infrastructure and health. It ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
