DOD plans rapid integration facility

The Special Operations Command issued a preliminary request for proposals June 6 to identify contractors capable of managing and staffing a new facility designed to rapidly integrate classified information.

Interested companies should have substantial experience with storing, handling and marking classified information on other Defense Department programs. They also must be able to staff the facility with employees who have security clearances and expertise in various disciplines, including program management, logistics, program support, quality assurance, software engineering and systems engineering.

Moreover, the contractor must have ISO 9001 certification or comparable and Capability Maturity Model Integration for services or development Level 3 certification.

The command plans to establish the facility in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina. Interested contractors should respond with a notice of intent and a summary of their capabilities by June 27.
