D.C. Capital launches training platform

D.C. Capital Partners has acquired Kaseman LLC, a government training firm, to start a new platform company to focus on training, security and logistics.

DC Capital Partners LLC has acquired Kaseman LLC, a training firm that specializes in the government market, to start a new company that will focus on training, security and logistics.

Last year, DC Capital formed National Interest Security Co. through a series of acquisitions. The latter company ranks No. 4 on Washington Technology's Big Impact Deals of 2007 list.

The company to be built around Kaseman is called Elite Training and Security LLC, and it will rely on more acquisitions and organic growth, DC Capital officials said.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Kaseman is headquartered in Chantilly, Va., and is led by Dave Kaseman. "With access to greater resources, we will be better positioned to respond to our customers' specialized and rapidly expanding requirements," he said.

The company's major customers include the State Department and the Transportation Security Administration. Kaseman focuses on four areas: anti-terrorism, counterterrorism and counternarcotics training; technical security advisory and assessment services and risk analysis; engineering and construction management, facilities operations and maintenance; and systems engineering.

"The acquisition of Kaseman is consistent with our focus on investing in companies with talented management and employees that have mission-critical capabilities and exceptional reputations," said Thomas Campbell, president of DC Capital, a private equity firm in Washington.
