SRA to continue assisting DTRA

SRA will provide logistics, network support, software engineering and Web services for research and development operations at DTRA, based at Fort Belvoir, Va.

SRA International Inc. will continue to provide information technology assistance to the Defense Department's Defense Threat Reduction Agency under a two-year contract worth $10 million.

DTRA's mission is to safeguard the United States and its allies from weapons of mass destruction by providing capabilities that will reduce, eliminate and counter threats and mitigate their effects. Engineering activities include research, development and acquisition to support the needs of combatant commanders, the military services and DOD.

Founded in 1998, DTRA has 2,000 military and civilian employees at more than 14 locations worldwide.

The recompeted award is the third such win for SRA under the Army Communications-Electronics Command Rapid Response contract, said Pat Burke, senior vice president of SRA's National Security Sector.

SRA, of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 32 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
