SAIC sets sail with Navy contract
SAIC will provide engineering and technical services for the Joint Special Missions Focus Area under a contract that could be worth as much as $243 million.
Science Applications International Corp. will provide modeling and simulation, computing architecture, software programming and other services to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane under a new, two-year contract that could be worth as much as $243 million if options are exercised.
SAIC will provide engineering and technical services for the Joint Special Missions Focus Area. The task order was awarded under the Seaport-e contract.
Work will be performed primarily at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane in Indiana and other U.S. military installations here and overseas.
The company will provide engineering and technical services in areas including acquisition, test and evaluation, and weapons security. SAIC will also provide management and logistics support services and advise in the development, coordination and implementation of emerging technologies.
SAIC, of San Diego, ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
