Lockheed gets Navy information assurance work

Lockheed Martin Corp. will provide information assurance technical support services for the Joint Medical Information Systems under a five-year contract that could be worth as much as $189.8 million.

Lockheed Martin was selected by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in Charleston, S.C., to perform network security engineering, certification, and test and evaluation support. The company will also provide systems engineering and integration, independent verification and validation, integration and maintenance services, and information assurance.

As part of the contract, Lockheed Martin will assist the center and the Naval Network Warfare Command with cryptographic repair and modernization work, network operations and security, computer network defense, security life cycle management, identity management, public key infrastructure, and secure network infrastructure.

The work will be performed in Charleston and at other locations worldwide.

The Joint Medical Information Systems, a division of the Military Health System, supports health care operations through the design, development and deployment of medical information systems.
