Booz Allen lands five AF tasks
Booz Allen Hamilton has won five information technology services contracts from the Air Force with a potential total value of $87.4 million.
Booz Allen said May 16 that it plans to split into two businesses based on the advice of its board of directors. Booz Allen's commercial business will form a stand-alone company, and its government business will be purchased by the Carlyle Group for $2.54 billion. The sale is expected to close later this year.Booz Allen ranks on Washington Technology's 2008 of the largest federal government prime contractors.

Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. has won five information technology services contracts from the Air Force with a potential total value of $87.4 million.
The largest of the task orders was awarded to the McLean, Va., company by the Air Force Communications Agency. In a deal valued at $30.7 million, Booz Allen will provide the agency with research and technical-analysis services related to information sharing and other efforts, according to the Defense Department's Web site.
The other awards are:
- A $20 million contract to provide the Air Mobility Command with research and analysis related to information assurance, collaborative technologies and cybersecurity.
- A $20 million contract to provide research and analysis to the assistant secretary of Defense for network and information integration that will support communications and intelligence networks.
- A $9 million contract to support the Aeronautical Systems Center and its work with the Communication Navigation Surveillance/Air Traffic Management system.
- A $7.7 million contract to provide information assurance support to the Defense Cyber Crime Center.
