NetStar-1 snaps up Aviel
Professional services business NetStar-1 Inc. has acquired Aviel Systems Inc., a provider of program management and IT service offerings to the federal government.
Professional services business NetStar-1 Inc. has acquired Aviel Systems Inc., a provider of program management and information technology service offerings to the federal government. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The Rockville, Md., company said it acquired Aviel to boost its program management and information technology service offerings. By joining forces, the two companies believe they can offer an enhanced set of technical capabilities to a wide range of clients in the national security, transportation and defense sectors.
When the companies pool their resources, they will have more than 750 employees and annual revenue of nearly $175 million, NetStar-1 said in a news release.
As a result of the acquisition, NetStar-1's federal client base will expand to include the departments of Agriculture, Defense, Homeland Security, Labor and Transportation, plus the Army, Navy and Air Force.
Aviel, through its operating subsidiaries Optimus Corp. and Performance Management Consulting Inc., offers management consulting and IT services to federal customers. Its management consulting strengths are IT program management, business optimization and financial management.
The McLean, Va., company's IT capabilities are grounded in network operations and desktop support, information assurance and security, systems design, and implementation and integration.
NetStar-1 provides consulting, design and implementation services for network infrastructure, applications development, security, and server and storage technologies.
