Griffiths joins GTSI board

Lloyd Griffiths, a dean at George Mason University, has been elected to GTSI Corp.'s board of directors.

Lloyd Griffiths, dean of The Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering at George Mason University since 1997, has been elected to GTSI Corp.'s board of directors.

Before joining GMU, Griffiths served for three years as chairman of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Colorado. Before that, he was associate dean for research and administration in the School of Engineering at the University of Southern California.

"GTSI's transformation presents a wonderful opportunity for the company to utilize its skills, its reputation, and longevity in the market to help government transform to a more services-oriented environment," Griffiths said.

Griffiths, who holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. also serves on the boards of Information Systems Laboratories Inc., a private engineering firm, and JNetDirect, a private software development firm.

GTSI ranks No. 37 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
