Four to assist Justice forfeiture program

Four companies will assist the Justice Department to manage forfeited assets under a six-and-a-half-year contract with a maximum value of $475 million.

Unisys Corp., BearingPoint Inc., Maximus Inc. and Grant Thornton LLP will compete for task orders under an Administrative Management and General Management Consulting Services contract for Justice's Asset Forfeiture Program, which oversees the assets forfeited in the prosecution of criminals and criminal enterprises.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity award covers professional and technical services for headquarters officials and field professionals.

Services will include investigative and analytical assistance, consulting, technical services and case-related professional support during the investigation and prosecution of criminal cases.

Two of the companies are on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors. BearingPoint ranks No. 24 on the list, while Unisys ranks No. 27.
