CGI to upgrade Springfield municipal services

CGI Group Inc. will upgrade municipal services in Springfield, Ill., with new information technology under a five-year contract worth $7.5 million.

The company will install its Web-based enterprise resource planning solution to modernize the city's finance, procurement, human resources and performance budgeting systems.

CGI will also install a new work-order processing system, using IBM Corp.'s Maximo software to modernize the operating requirements of the city and its utility division, City Water, Light and Power, CGI said.

The award continues a nearly three-decade relationship with the city, said John Roggemann, vice president at CGI.

CGI of Montreal ranks No. 74 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
