Sys Technologies Inc. will supply technical-support services to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Charleston under a contract that may be worth as much as $29.7 million over five years.
Under the terms of the contract, SYS, of San Diego, will provide analysis, design and assessment for initiatives involving human systems integration, human capital management, knowledge management and personnel integration.
In its most general sense, human systems integration addresses the relationship between men and machines. In an acquisition or engineering setting, it is the effort to design and develop systems that effectively address human capabilities and limitations.
SYS also will provide support for initiatives associated with manpower, personnel, training and education for new acquisitions and modernization efforts targeting Navy warfare processes and systems.
In Feburary, SYS announced plans to merge with Kratos Defense and Security Solutions Inc., which is also based in San Diego. After the merger is completed, which the companies say will occur in the second quarter, SYS will operate as a unit of Kratos.
