Paradigm to assist DOD anti-mines office

Paradigm Technologies Inc. will provide fiscal and business management support services to the Defense Department office charged with protecting service personnel and vehicles against mines and ambushes.

Paradigm's new five-year task order, awarded through the Naval Sea Systems Command's SeaPort-e program, has a potential value of $15.7 million.

The Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle Joint Program Office at the Marine Corps Systems Command in Quantico, Va., is charged with improving the survivability of Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Special Operations Command troops and military vehicles deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Under this award, Paradigm and its partner, Computer Sciences Corp., will provide experienced business and financial management personnel who have extensive program experience to help operate and maintain the MRAP Vehicle program, which is budgeted at about $25 billion for fiscal 2007 to 2009.

The Paradigm team will perform specific financial management functions, such as supporting budget formulation, budget justification, budget execution and precise accounting of program resources, said Thomas Johnson of Paradigm's Business and Corporate Development division. Financial execution support, he said, includes ensuring appropriate budgeting, spending planning and other related tasks.

Paradigm, a small business based in Arlington, Va., specializes in providing integrated business operations support to DOD. The company has additional offices in Huntsville, Ala., and Dahlgren, Va.
