BAE wins more Navy communications work

BAE Systems Technology Solutions and Services Inc. won a contract modification to provide the Navy with work related to shipboard communications.

BAE Systems Technology Solutions and Services Inc. won a $6.7 million contract modification to provide the Navy with work related to shipboard communications.

The contract option for the shipboard communications system includes development, procurement and integration services and support, the Defense Department said. It also covers testing, installation and certification.

In addition, BAE will work on the development and integration of similar systems at shore sites. The company also will work on development, testing and integration of mobile and airborne communication systems designed to interface with the command, control, communication, computers and intelligence architecture of surface combatants.

The company will perform the work in California, Md.; St. Inigoes, Md.; Bath, Maine; and Pascagoula, Miss. The work is scheduled to be completed by March 2013, DOD said.

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, St. Inigoes, Md., is the contracting activity.
