American Systems unveils security practice

American Systems Corp. is taking advantage of its identity-credentialing experience to create an enterprise security practice for federal and commercial customers.

ASC said the new practice will offer federal agencies security services based on the national net-centric defense strategy.

The new practice includes a broad range of advisory and deployment capabilities in security program development, logical and physical controls, identity credentialing, and
compliance and monitoring, the company said.

Those offerings will include continuity-of-operations planning, identity management planning, information assurance, threat management, security monitoring and auditing.

ASC created the practice so physical and information security managers will be able to go beyond mere security policy and audit compliance toward a more holistic and centralized security management system, said William Hoover, president and chief executive officer at the company.

ASC's government focus is on command and control, acquisition and logistics, readiness, national security, and citizen safety.
