ITAA names new executive leadership

The Information Technology Association of America has formed a new board of directors executive committee following last month's merger with the Government Electronics and Information Technology Association.

Current ITAA Chairman Hank Steininger, managing partner of the Global Public
Sector practice at Grant Thornton LLP, will serve as chairman of the new board and lead a five-member executive committee.

The organization will have two vice chairmen. Current GEIA Chairman Gene Glazar, vice president of business development at BAE Systems Inc., will serve as one. Gordon Coburn, chief financial officer and chief operating officer at Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp., will be the other.

Also serving on the executive committee are former GEIA Chairman Randy Lucas, program executive for GSA Programs at Verizon Business; and former ITAA Chairman David Sanders, chief operating officer at Avotus Corp.

The new 28-member ITAA board of directors will be equally divided among ITAA and GEIA member companies.

The merger ? which is expected to formally close April 1 ? joins nearly 400 technology companies to focus on public policy, business development, technology standards and market intelligence under the ITAA banner.

ITAA and GEIA were the second pair of professional organizations to merge this year. The Professional Services Council and the Contract Services Association of America completed their previously announced merger in January.
