Duffey departs EDS for Dell
Jim Duffey, former head of EDS Corp.'s government business, has joined Dell Inc. to run the computer maker's public sector business.
Jim Duffey, former head of EDS Corp.'s government business, has joined Dell Inc. to run the computer maker's public sector business.
Duffey will serve as vice president and general manager for Dell's Public Business Group, which covers the federal, state and local, education and health care sectors.
Troy West, vice president of Dell's federal business, will report to Duffey, a Dell spokesman said.
EDS in August put Duffey in charge of the company's Global Supply Chain Management organization in Plano, Texas, after leading the government group since 2004. Dennis Stolkey took over Duffey's position as vice president and general manager of the U.S. government unit.
Duffey had a 25-year career at EDS, including service as vice president of executive operations for global sales and client solutions. He was a member of EDS' Operations Council, Major Sales Pursuit Council and the Finance Committee.
Dell ranks No. 17 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
